Sarod is a String Instrument mainly used in Indain Classical Music and it has been derived from rebab.The sarod is known for a deep, weighty, introspective sound and that is why it is also called as bass rebab.In Persian, Sarod means beautiful sound or melody.Sarod is a fretless instrument and can produce slides between the notes,hence it is the most preffered instrument.
